ABOUT YOUR GROOMER

Hi, I’m Jordyn, the owner and groomer behind Glow Up Grooming! My love for animals began on the farm where I was born and raised in South Dakota. Growing up around livestock and companion animals shaped the way I care for animals today—with patience, respect, and an understanding that every animal has unique needs, personalities, and comfort levels. After moving to the area with my husband, Mykel, in August 2021, I continued building my career in animal care and eventually brought Glow Up Grooming into my home. I hold a B.S. in Animal Science and a B.S. in Biology, with professional experience in livestock care, companion animals, veterinary medicine, boarding, grooming, and general animal care. This background has given me a strong foundation in animal health, anatomy, behavior, and wellness—knowledge I bring to every grooming appointment.

​​My grooming career began in 2016 while managing a boarding and grooming facility. I was fortunate to be mentored by a Master Groomer and AKC show breeder, who helped me develop my technical skills and introduced me to the precision, structure, and artistry of professional grooming. Under their guidance, I earned my professional grooming certificate and continued advancing through hands-on experience, continuing education, and specialized training. My experience also includes competition grooming, which strengthened my understanding of breed standards, balance, structure, coat preparation, scissoring, and finishing. It has helped me become more precise and intentional while deepening my appreciation for the artistry behind a polished groom. I am currently working toward accreditation as a Certified Pet Aesthetician, with a special interest in skin and coat health. I have also continued my education through Iv San Bernard’s Pet Skin Academy, expanding my knowledge of professional skin and coat care and individualized grooming therapies.​​
